Kevin Butt

Agriculture Professor
Ellsworth Community College

Kevin grew up on a farm just outside of Iowa Falls and still helps with the family farm operations. He graduated from Ellsworth in 1990 with an Associate’s degree in Ag Science, then transferred to Iowa State University, where he graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Ag Education and Animal Science. Kevin spent several years working in the animal health industry and another 10 years in the technology industry before coming to Ellsworth in 2004 to run the Agriculture Department. He currently serves on the executive committee for the Iowa Association of Ag Educators and is an active board member for the Iowa FFA Foundation.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time at the family farm working with their registered Black Angus herd and farming about 1,000 acres of corn and soybeans. He met his wife while studying abroad in Slovakia when he was a student at ISU and continues to travel to Europe frequently with his wife and two daughters.
